ARCHITECTURAL STUDIO

Founded in 1920 and managed for more than twenty years by Rafael de La-Hoz Castanys. It is one of the most active Spanish studios with extensive international renown. Covering all types of architecture, its creations are characterised by their quality and technological innovation

Aware of the growth of cities and need for caring for the environment, it has achieved the maximum sustainable certification: Leed Platinum Certification for some of its projects as well as numerous national and international awards. Among which are the MIPIM Award, the Premio Obra Internacional of the Argentina Biennale or the American Architecture Award organised by the Chicago Athenaeum. One of its most recent projects has been nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture, the Mies Van der Rohe award.

Its emblematic buildings are, to a great extent, the result of international architecture contests. In addition to numerous residential projects, among its most recent and representative works we can find: The Universidad Popular de Alcobendas (Miguel Delibes Space), the University Hospital ‘Rey Juan Carlos I’, the Repsol Campus, the Daoíz y Velarde Cultural Centre, Telefónica’s Distrito C, the head offices of Endesa, the ‘Pórtico’ building, the Torres de Hércules, the Auditorium of the ‘Rafael del Pino’ Foundation, the Superior Council of Chambers of Commerce or the auditorium of the Spanish Olympic Committee.

It is currently involved in different projects in Spain, Colombia, Morocco, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and China.
